Xenical is a brand name of Orlistat 120mg capsules, a prescription only medication licensed in the UK for the treatment of weight loss and obesity. For many people, losing weight through lifestyle changes alone can be an uphill struggle. Orlistat (Xenical) has been specifically designed to assist people looking to lose weight. Obesity associated with a high BMI is a major risk factor in the development of often debilitating conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

Orlistat (Xenical) in combination with a balanced, low calorie, reduced fat diet, helps to aid weight loss, improving self-confidence and self-image, as well as long term health. It is a lipase inhibitor. It works to prevent the absorption of one third of the fats consumed from your diet. It does this by inhibiting the enzyme lipase, which breaks down fats in your diet allowing them to be readily absorbed by your body. It is only suitable for patients who have a BMI greater than 28.
