Imigran is the brand name of Sumatriptan Succinate, a prescription medication used in the treatment of migraine. Migraines are defined as moderate to severe headaches presenting as a throbbing pain on the side of the head. They are often accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, as well as a heightened sensitivity to light and/or sound, referred to as aura. In certain individuals these associated symptoms can be experienced without a headache in what is called a silent migraine.

Imigran contains the active ingredient sumatriptan, which belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans. Imigran (sumatriptan) works to treat the root cause of migraines through a complex neurological mechanism of action. By acting on serotonin (5HT) receptors in the brain, Imigran (sumatriptan) causes the contraction of blood vessels in the brain and resulting in successful treatment of migraine symptoms.

Imigran (sumatriptan) tablets are available to purchase from Smart Chemist in both branded and generic form. Fill out our medical questionnaire online and get effective migraine relief treatment delivered to your door.

Migraine symptoms have been linked to the temporary dilation (widening) of blood vessels in the brain, resulting in the throbbing like pain commonly associated with migraine. Imigran (sumatriptan) is a selective serotonin (5HT) receptor agonist.
