Imigran Nasal Spray is a popular prescription only medication used in the treatment of migraine. Migraines are defined as moderate to severe headaches presenting as a throbbing pain on the side of the head. They are often accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, as well as a heightened sensitivity to light and/or sound, referred to as aura. In certain individuals these associated symptoms can be experienced without a headache in what is called a silent migraine.

Containing the active ingredient sumatriptan succinate, Imigran nasal spray is an effective treatment for the relief of migraine and migraine associated symptoms.

Why choose Imigran Nasal Spray?

Suffering from migraine attacks can negatively impact your quality of life. Its effects can be wide ranging and debilitating, commonly interfering with a suffers ability to work, study, and complete daily tasks. Its effects can also strain both professional and personal relationships.

Imigran Nasal Spray is a commonly prescribed and effective treatment for migraine. It is often preferred to traditional alternatives such as Imigran tablets as it is absorbed faster and thus has a faster onset of action. Meaning it can begin to treat a migraine and alleviate its symptoms soon after taking a dose.

Imigran Nasal Spray should be used to treat the symptoms of migraine only, and not used as a preventative measure. Buy migraine medication online at Smart Chemist.

What dose should I choose?

How should I take Imigran Nasal Spray?

A single spray of Imigran Nasal Spray contains a single dose of medication. Each nasal spray consists of three parts: a nozzle (which is inserted into your nostril to administer the desired dose), a finger-grip (which is used to provide support for your thumb during administration) and a blue plunger (which is pressed to successfuly release a single dose into your nostril).

When using Imigran Nasal Spray, first ensure the nozzle is correctly inserted into your nostril, making sure to firmly press a finger against the side of your other nostril to keep it closed. Once you are ready and comfortable, tilt your head back, breathe out and then close your mouth, then begin to breathe in gently through your nose. Whilst breathing in gently through your nose, press the blue plunger to release a single dose of Imigran into your nostril. If you are suffering from a cold or blocked nose, remember to blow your nose thoroughly and clear any congestion before using Imigran Nasal Spray. Once complete, remove the spray from your nostril and discard.

After using the spray your may find that your nose is slightly wet and you may experience a peculiar taste in your mouth. This is normal.

How does Imigran Nasal Spray work?

Migraine symptoms have been linked to the temporary dilation (widening) of blood vessels in the brain, resulting in the throbbing like pain commonly associated with migraine. Imigran Nasal Spray contains sumatriptan, a selective serotonin (5HT) receptor agonist. It works to treat migraine symptoms by stimulating serotonin receptors in the brain, resulting in the narrowing of blood vessels and relieving migraine related symptoms.

Imigran Nasal Spray (sumatriptan) should be used to treat the symptoms of migraine only, either at the first sign of an attack or during. Imigran Nasal Spray should not be used as a preventative measure to stop migraine attacks from occurring.
